Sensory 101 Parent Education

(Virtual, Apr, June dates) An introduction to what the sensory systems are and how they work. The goal is to understand your child better. This understanding will assist families in developing strategies to help make life easier.

Expressive Arts & Crafts Series (8-11 yrs)

(In-person, Apr 9-30) TVCC clients are invited to this new series that will inspire creativity and foster self expression through arts and crafts! In this series, we'll get messy and creative while trying out new artistic modalities and projects. Each week will include creative warm up activities followed by a focal project.

Caregivers Connecting: Caregivers of Children/Youth

(In-Person, 3rd Tues, Apr - Aug) Caregivers and parents, of TVCC clients ages, with disabilities can share their experiences, information, challenges, successes and strategies, or just hang out and drink some coffee!

Talking Autism Together Series (Monthly topics)

(Virtual, May 28) "Summertime Social Skills" and "Exploring Food". Each session is facilitated by a Family & Community Consultant and will focus on a specific topic, offering practical advice and a space to share experiences and strategies.

Feeding 101 Parent Workshops

(Virtual, monthly until June) Parents/caregivers of preschool age children, with special needs can learn about making mealtimes positive, reducing power struggles, defining parent and child feeding roles, the role of sensory processing in eating challenges.

Jump into Play (3-5 yrs)

(In-person, Fri - May 2-23) Get ready to play together with your child in fun and engaging fundemental movement skills. Through structured and unstructured play we will create movement activities focused on learning and practices catching/throwing skills, movement stations, circle time, active games and more.

Quiet Swim (2-6 yrs)

(In-person, Weds/May & Tues/June) This program is designed to provide a calm, low stimulation environment to allow children to become comfortable in the water with the support of a parent/caregiver. This program is unstructured and child led, and facilitated by a Recreation Therapist to support early transitions and comfort in the water.

Therapeutic Drumming and Music (7 yrs +)

(Weds, May 7 - 28) Each week participants will be guided through various activities using drums and other musical instruments. Led by Music Therapists from Connections Music Therapy, this program will utilize facets of music therapy and expressive arts to encourage creativity, social wellness, and self-confidence.
