Caregiver-Mediated Early Years

Caregiver-Mediated Early Years (C-MEY) programs support families with young children (aged 12 to 48 months) diagnosed with autism to learn new skills and meet individualized goals.

In the Caregiver-Mediated model, parents and caregivers learn therapeutic strategies and specific techniques from professionals based on their child’s individual needs. The programs aim to build parents’ and caregivers’ capacity to support their child’s skill development in:

  • Social interaction
  • Play
  • Communication
  • Emotional development
  • Adaptive development and self-help skills

Eligibility Requirements:

Your child is eligible if:

  • Your child has an autism diagnosis, is registered with Access OAP and has received a letter of invitation
  • Your child is under the age of 4 years old

Once you have received a letter of invitation from the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, register for Entry to School by contacting Samantha McCarthy, C-MEY Program Coordinator
