TVCC offers a range of participation programs, including camps and activities, to help clients and families be their best.

(Virtual, Tues or Wed, Sept 16-Dec 3) During this guided discussion, we focus on autism and behavioural strategies and provide helpful resources to parents of children with autism.

Quiet Swim (2-6 yrs)

(In-person, Sept-Dec 2025) This program is designed to provide a calm, low stimulation environment to allow children to become comfortable in the water with the support of a parent/caregiver. This program is unstructured and child led, and facilitated by a Recreation Therapist to support early transitions and comfort in the water.

Swim Spouts (3 - 4 yrs)

(In-person, Weds - Oct 8-29) Recreation Therapists will support you and your child as we introduce and practice foundational swim skills, comfort in the water, and pool safety habits.

Nintendo Switch Party (12 yrs+)

(In-person, Oct 15-Dec 10) Join Horizons and The Wellness Project for Nintendo Switches parties! We connect TVCC's Nintendo Switch consoles to two big screens for everyone to play together. We have a few games to choose from, or youth are also welcome to bring any multiplayer games they'd like to play with the group.

Feeding 101 Parent Workshops

(Virtual, Oct 27, or Nov 24 or Dec 15) Parents/caregivers of preschool age children, with special needs can learn about making mealtimes positive, reducing power struggles, defining parent and child feeding roles, the role of sensory processing in eating challenges.

Dinner with Friends (12 yrs +)

(In-person, Oct 28 &/or Dec 4) TVCC Youth with disabilities, 12 yrs +, who reside within Elgin/Middlesex, Huron/Perth, Grey/Bruce & Oxford County are invited to join the Horizons and Wellness Project teams to prepare and share a meal together.

Caregivers Connecting: Caregivers of Children/Youth

(In-Person, Tues, Oct 28, Nov 25, Dec 16) Caregivers and parents, of TVCC clients ages, with disabilities can share their experiences, information, challenges, successes and strategies, or just hang out and drink some coffee!

Talking Autism Together Series (Monthly topics)

(Virtual, Oct 29 & Nov 27) Each monthly session is facilitated by a Family & Community Consultant and will focus on a specific topic, offering practical advice and a space to share experiences and strategies.October is "Strategies for Adapting to New Events" and November is "Tips for Toilet Training".

Therapeutic Drumming and Music (7 yrs +)

(Weds, Oct 29 - Dec 10) Each week participants will be guided through various activities using drums and other musical instruments. Led by Music Therapists from Connections Music Therapy, this program will utilize facets of music therapy and expressive arts to encourage creativity, social wellness, and self-confidence.
