Individual Treatment
One-to-one, individualized treatment is provided to children and youth in individual treatment spaces.
Set-Up
Instructor Therapists work 1:1 or 2:1 with children or youth in smaller therapy rooms targeting the individual’s goals and immediate support needs. Each child or youth will have an individualized Treatment Plan detailing their specific goals. At times, children or youth in an Individual treatment model may participate in activities within a classroom or with children or youth from a classroom model (e.g., transitioning, joint attention tasks, dyad teaching, preparation to participate in the classroom model).
A primary goal is to prepare each child or youth to participate in the Classroom Model.
Placement in an individual treatment space is based on the child or youth's unique needs and treatment goals. It is considered with their support requirements and environmental set-up in other environments (e.g., school) in mind. The clinical team will work with parents and caregivers to determine the best setting for each child or youth.
Parent Engagement
When determined with the Behaviour Analyst, the family engages in Parent Coaching provided by the Instructor Therapist within the treatment sessions. The focus is to establish strategies for skill building and behaviour reduction that generalize to family members with the goal for generalization to home and community settings.
