Fun and Friendships (15 yrs +)

For TVCC Youth with disabilities who are 15 yrs +  who reside within Elgin/Middlesex, Huron/Perth, Grey/Bruce & Oxford County.

What to Expect

This fun, community-based group will encourage positive relationship-building between TVCC clients ages 15 years old and over.

Together, we will explore similar interests and plan fun activities to do together in the community. Group communication and planning together around shared interests may support building relationships that last outside our group.

For our first group session, we will go bowling and have lunch. The next outings will be planned by the youth. We will consider community events such as arcades, escape rooms, cooking, volunteering or dinner out (the activities will be planned and decided by the youth, with the guidance of the group leaders).

Through this program, youth will:
-Develop their planning, organizing, and decision-making skills through creating and doing activities
-develop their group work skills and problem solving abilities
- have an opportunity to engage in group activities in the community

Participant Criteria for Youth Program:

  • TVCC clients ages 15+
  • Able to participate safely in group activities and discussion with minimal support; participants are welcome to have a support person present to assist them
  • Able to stay with the group when out in the community and follow instructions from the facilitator
