Trash to Treasure: An Environmental Focused Creative Connections

For TVCC clients, aged 12+, who are interested in art and who are able to work independently on their project. Support workers are welcome.

What to Expect

TVCC clients, 12 yrs and older are invited to participate in this workshop designed to promote creative exploration.

Turning trash into treasure is a reuse and repurpose crafting group. We will look at fun activities we can do such as making plant terrariums out of old mason jars, bird feeders out of old tea cups, or art out of old costume jellewery.

The youth will be encouraged to create different structured art or craft  projects, using different mediums and approaches during Creative Connections. They will also be supported to make it their own and use any or all of the items they bring from home.

These projects are appropriate for youth interested in art who are able to participate safely in a group and work independently on their project. Youth who need additional support are welcome to bring a support person.

Additional containers and materials will be supplied.

Youth will work on building creative and artistic leisure skills, strengthening existing fine motor and planning skills, and make connections with other youth who have similar interests.
