Pioneer Village Presents: 19th Century Fun and Games (12 yrs +)

For TVCC Youth with disabilities and a sibling (a family member or close friend) who are 12 yrs +  who reside within Elgin/Middlesex, Huron/Perth, Grey/Bruce & Oxford County.

What to Expect

Join us for a presentation from the Pioneer Village! Their community outreach team are coming to TVCC to host an interactive presentation where they tell us all about 19th Century fun and games! 

They will be bringing artifacts to show, parlor toys, and you will be able to make two crafts to bring home. Youth-aged (12+) siblings and friends of clients are welcome to join alongside them!

In this program youth will

  • Make crafts involving tying knots to make a yarn doll and colouring for an optical illusion toy. 
  •  Learn about the toys and popular pastimes of people in the 1800s

Participant Criteria

  • Client of TVCC, 12 yrs +, or sibling/friend
  • Interest in pioneer/historical information
  • Ability to be in a group setting where they may have to sit and listen for a period of time

If accommodation is needed, participants are welcome to have a support person with them.
