For Parents/caregivers of TVCC children/youth with disabilities, of all ages, who reside within Elgin/Middlesex, Huron/Perth, Grey/Bruce & Oxford County.
What to Expect
Caregivers Connecting is an in-person opportunity for families and caregivers of TVCC clients (1-20 yrs) to ask questions, share their common lived experiences, seek advice, and access resources.
This group is led and supported by Parent Mentors at TVCC and is a great way to share and receive information on family workshops, events, practical guidance, resource navigation tips, and relevant community resources.
Special guests will also be available to share information to the group on topics such as:
- paperwork and funding
- new diagnosis
- building independence skills
- parent self-care
- school processes and meetings, and navigating services.
Coffee and light refreshments will be provided. **Please note that there is no child care available
This initiative is part of TVCC's Wellness Project. The Wellness Project is a four-year program aimed at rebuilding and enhancing mental wellness for youth and their families. We understand that the past few years have brought unique challenges, and we want to help. We're running programs with a focus on connection, mindfulness, physical activity, and new skills.
