TVCC Youth with disabilities, 12 yrs +, who reside within Elgin/Middlesex, Huron/Perth, Grey/Bruce & Oxford County.
What to Expect
Poetry is a fantastic way to express your feelings, showcase your interests, and show others who you are and what you care about! In this three session program, your youth can explore creativity and self expression through this wonderful medium.
In our first session, we will learn what poetry is, what sorts of things we can express through poetry and begin thinking of ideas for our own poems. In the second session, we will be working together with peers and staff to develop our poems and ideas. In our third and final session we will be finishing up our work and having a showcase where the poems we have created can be shared with the group, as well as some social time with snacks and drinks!
Through this program, youth will:
- Interact with other TVCC clients/peers
- Participate in self-expression activities to develop self-awareness
- Learn various creative practices that encourage self confidence and well being
- Develop writing and expression skills in a supportive & accessible environment
