For parents/caregivers of children or youth, of all ages, with autism.
What to Expect
"Talking Autism Together" is an interactive discussion for parents/caregivers of children with autism. Each session is facilitated by a Family & Community Consultant and will focus on a specific topic, offering practical advice and a space to share experiences and strategies.
April's topic is "Summertime Social Skills". Join us for a guided discussion focused on building and supporting social skills with your child or youth. We will discuss as a group how to set up social opportunities this summer, ideas for sensory-friendly or family-friendly local activities, and tips for planning for success. We encourage you to share any of your own strategies, ideas, or tips with the group.
May's topic is "Exploring Food". Join us for a guided discussion centred around sharing fun activities and strategies for exploring food with your child or youth with autism. We invite you to share your own ideas and tips with other caregivers who may share similar experiences.
*** NEW! Following this event, participants will have the option to receive a kit in the mail containing activities, visual tools, tip sheets and more to help make exploring food a fun experience for everyone!
Come ready to:
- Ask questions. Get advice from others who have been through similar experiences.
