Online (eLearning) Opportunities

In addition to "in class" education, we also offer some online information / workshops. We have taken steps to make these modules view-able on a wide range of computers, tablets and devices including, Windows and Apple Macintosh computers, iOS and Android devices.

Minimum recommended system requirements for online modules:

Requirements for Downloadable pdf versions:
Adobe Acrobat DC Reader and a current Adobe Flash Player.

Requirements for online interactive training:
an html 5 capable browser (e.g., Firefox 7 or higher, IE 9 or higher, Chrome 14 or higher, or Safari 5 or higher)

Online eLearning Modules

Augmentative Communication Service Orientation

This electronic learning module provides you with an overview of the Augmentative Communication Service (ACS at TVCC). The module covers what the augmentative communication is all about, what to expect and what's involved with this service. The module also provides some examples of Augmentative Communication strategies and funding support.

Review of this module is required by caregivers of children waiting for entry to this service. There are a couple ways you can view this learning module. You can:

Complete the learning module online using a modern computer, iPad or Android device
(requires a sufficient live internet connection and up to date web browser);

or

Download and review the learning module (23.9 MB pdf file)
Once downloaded, you will not require an internet connection to view the module (until you are required to 'email' your completion). This is an interactive pdf containing adobe shockwave flash animations. To view the file you will require Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and Adobe Flash Player to be installed on your computer)

Trouble shooting

There is a lag between 'slides.' What should i do?

This is caused by an internet connection that is not quiet fast enough, or by heavy traffic on the web server. You can try later, or use the download method to review the module "off line."

I want to download the module and watch it offline. Where can I get the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC?

Don't have a copy of Adobe Acrobat? Get a free copy of adobe acrobat Reader DC

Do I need a Flash Player installed for the module?

You will not require a flash player for the online version.
You will require a Flash Player for the downloaded pdf version of the modules

I downloaded the pdf module. I can't get it to work on my iPad.

Unfortunately the downloaded pdf requires flash. Since iPads do not support flash, you will need to view the downloaded file on a computer.
